Map shows Debby's storm track as it approaches New York, New Jersey and beyond
Tropical Storm Debby made a second landfall early Thursday over South Carolina, before the remnants of the storm track up the East Coast and into New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Today will be a near repeat of Wednesday, with stubborn clouds, scattered showers and perhaps an isolated downpour or two. That said, keep the umbrella handy but don't plan on using it all day.
Temperature-wise, we should recover some, but it's still going to feel like September out there.
Tonight should be manageable, as well, though a downpour or two can't be ruled out. Outside of that, it will be damp and humid, with lows around 70.
Then, our eyes turn towards Debby, as it makes a pass just off to our northwest late in the day on Friday. The First Alert Weather team has issued a Red Alert for most of the day.

As of now, the heaviest rain should stay north and west of the city, which is good news, but we'll still manage to pick up about 1 to 3 inches of rainfall, on average.
Given the latest projections – and recent rainfall – isolated to scattered instances of flash flooding are possible, with the best chance inland.
Another concern is the winds, which will likely peak tomorrow evening at 35 to 45+ miles per hour. If the models hold true, it's not out of the question that there could be isolated instances of downed tree branches or even some weak-rooted trees, especially along the coast and east of the city.
As for coastal flooding, we are not expecting anything of significance at this time. However, dangerous rip currents are expected on Friday across south-facing New York beaches and the Jersey shore, so do be mindful of that.
Officials say now is the time to get prepared as Debby heads our way. In Hempstead, N.Y., people could be seen tying up their boats Wednesday in Lido Beach.
"We are going to have flooding. We are expecting trees to come down to some level," Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin said. "All those low lying areas, if you've seen flooding the in past, you should expect it again."
Any good news? The weekend looks amazing! We'll continue to refine the forecast as things become clearer with Debby, but until then, stay dry.
