Dead Whale Found Near LaGuardia Airport
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A dead whale was found on the shore near LaGuardia Airport.
The whale's remains washed up in Flushing Bay on Thursday afternoon.
The 15-foot whale was found on the embankment leading to runway 13/31.
The Army Corps of Engineers removed it and scientists at the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research are now trying to determine cause of death, 1010 WINS reported.
Whale sightings have been on the rise in the waters surrounding New York City.
