De Blasio Family Posts #JonVoyage Video Bidding Farewell To Jon Stewart
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio and his family issued a farewell video Wednesday for Jon Stewart, as Stewart prepares to end his run on "The Daily Show."
The mayor and his son, Dante, are seen sitting at a table, while First Lady Chirlane McCray and daughter Chiara stand behind them in front of a bookcase.
"You know, family, Jon Stewart's last show is on Thursday," McCray says.
"You know, we will have an extra room," adds Dante, as his sister points out that he is moving out. Dante de Blasio will begin college at Yale University in the fall.
"What do you say, Jon?" de Blasio says before everyone waves goodbye.
Thursday will be Stewart's last night hosting the popular parody news program on Comedy Central.
Stewart began hosting the Comedy Central show in January 1999. He had taken over for Craig Kilborn, who had hosted the program for its first three years before that.
Comedian Trevor Noah will take over "The Daily Show" beginning Sept. 28.
