De Blasio Family Spends First Night In Historic Gracie Mansion
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- For the first time in more than a decade, a New York City mayor is living in Gracie Mansion.
Mayor Bill de Blasio, his wife and their two children woke up in their official Manhattan residence for the first time Monday.
De Blasio and his family returned from their vacation in Italy on Sunday and were seen unloading luggage at the mansion.

Since December, de Blasio has said he'd move into the mansion from the family's home in Park Slope, Brooklyn. They spent some time debating whether to make the switch and began the moving process at the beginning of June.
No one had lived at Gracie Mansion since Rudy Giuliani left office in 2001. Mayor Michael Bloomberg remained in his opulent Upper East Side town house during his 12-year administration, though he oversaw extensive renovations to Gracie Mansion.
The mansion, which dates to 1799, was designated the official residence of the mayor in 1942.

De Blasio wasn't exactly greeted with a welcome wagon when he left Gracie Mansion on Monday, WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported.
Franca Gioia is angry about the plan to build a garbage transfer station just a few blocks away.
"Specifically, I'd like to know when he's going to go speak to those NYCHA residents on 92nd Street about that dump and use the word 'justice' to them," she said.
Cindy Hambro thinks it will be a mess.
"Five hundred garbage trucks a day that will slam a neighborhood," she said.
Others, however, said they hope to see the mayor out and about.
