Mount Vernon Man Accused Of Beating 2-Year-Old Twin Daughters, One Fatally
MOUNT VERNON (CBSNewYork) - A father beat his twin 2-year-old daughters so badly one of then died and the other is in critical condition, Mount Vernon police said.
Derran Morris allegedly attacked his twin daughters Addison and Annalynn Turner Wednesday afternoon.
Eddie Turner told 1010 WINS' Al Jones that he didn't like Morris from the start, when he began living with his daughter and twin granddaughters.
"The guy want the kids to call him daddy, and he is not their dad," Turner said.
Turner said his granddaughters refused, and that a few weeks ago one of them answered the door with swollen eyes.
Turner said his daughter would not leave Morris until it was too late.
"I just get a call from my daughter now that one of my grandkids die," he said.
Mount Vernon police say he beat the two so seriously in the abdomen that both of them suffered lacerated livers and severe internal bleeding. Addison died, and Annalynn is hospitalized in critical condition.
Morris, 23, faces murder and assault charges.
