Daryl Hall Plans Outdoor Stage, Summer Concert Series At NY Venue
PAWLING, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates wants to add an outdoor stage at his music venue and restaurant in New York.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer opened Daryl's House on Halloween 2014 in the Dutchess County town of Pawling, on the Connecticut border 65 miles north of New York City.
Hall plans to build a stage behind the restaurant to hold concerts on a lawn that can accommodate more than 1,000 people, the Poughkeepsie Journal reports.
The first concert in the 2016 Backyard Concert Series is scheduled for May 27 with Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings.
Town officials say the project is under review and hasn't received final approvals.
Hall films his Internet and cable television music program, "Live From Daryl's House,'' at his Pawling restaurant. He now lives in Sherman, Connecticut.
Hall was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
