Darrelle Revis Insists He's Happy With Buccaneers
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Former New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis took to Twitter on Tuesday to "clear the smoke" after a report suggested he was unhappy with Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano.
Revis was traded to Tampa Bay during the offseason, agreeing to a long-term extension as part of the deal.
"Darrelle Revis, the crown jewel of their offseason, he's not happy," NFL insider Mike Garafolo said on "Fox Sports Live." "Sources have told me (head coach Greg) Schiano's rules, a little too strict for him after coming from (Jets coach) Rex Ryan."
Revis, who has a history of airing his frustrations, said he was "happy" and "excited" to be on the Buccaneers.
"What's going on Buc fans. Just to clear the smoke. I'm happy to be a Buccaneer & I'm happy to be a resident of Tampa," Revis tweeted after Garafolo's comments made the rounds.
Garafolo also said Revis, not a fan of Schiano's zone defense, would prefer to play man-to-man coverage.
The Buccaneers have lost their first two games of the season -- first to the Jets, then New Orleans.
"I'm excited for this year & I'm excited about this team as we move forward to prepare each week to get a W," Revis tweeted.
