Customers Frustrated After N.J. Dry Cleaner Goes Out Of Business Before Returning Pre-Paid Clothes
NORTH PLAINFIELD -- Did a North Plainfield dry cleaning business leave customers hanging out to dry?
A popular cleaners on Route 22 has been closed for several days and a bankruptcy notice is now posted on the door, 1010 WINS' Al Jones reported.
Customers are asked to come back later in the week to pick up their clothes, which are still locked inside. But the shop takes payment in advance, leaving clients to wonder why the "$1.99 Cleaners" was still accepting clothes as it was going out of business.

"They should have told us something, because if they knew they were going to close, they should've stopped taking clothes at a certain point," said one client.
"It's no big deal, I've got other clothes at home," said another.
Judging by some notes left on the door, not all customers are so understanding.
"As long as I get the stuff back," said one woman. "They don't want it."
