Cuomo, State Delegation Home After 'Unity Mission' In Israel
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A New York delegation led by Gov. Cuomo returned from its two-day "unity mission" to Israel Friday morning.
Gov. Cuomo's first international trip lasted less than 30 hours on the ground, but he told reporters that climbing through a tunnel near the Gaza border made a tremendous difference for him, Silverman reported.

The governor used the word "amazing," to describe Israel's anti-missile system, Silverman reported. That excursion almost didn't happen because some rockets started flying as the cease-fire expired, but it was extended as things calmed down.
The taxpayers of New York did not pay for this trip, WCBS 880 reported.
Cuomo, along with the leaders of the state legislator all used campaign money.
Those joining Cuomo were Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Senate co-leaders Dean Skelos and Jeff Klein.
The Palestinian ambassador to the U.N. criticized the governor for not visiting Palestinian territory. Cuomo's response, according to The New York Times, was simply that "time was short. We didn't even get a chance to sleep on this trip, but we did see a lot."
