Dozens of CSEA union workers wanted their voices to be heard as legislators approved laying off 128 county employees.
One worker says she'll find out by the end of the week if she is on the chopping block.
"My husband's been out of work for almost three years now. I have two kids. I have barely been able to pay my mortgage," she says.
CSEA president Jerry Laricchiuta says the employees do not have to be laid off.
"When you have people making $40,000 a year being sacrificed so that they can feed their friends $100,000 a year jobs - despicable," Laricchiuta tells WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall.
Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano says the cuts are needed to balance the budget and will save $10 million annually.
