Crowd Gathers To Remember 12-Year-Old Girl Who Was Slain In N.J.
CLAYTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Dozens of people gathered at a park in southern New Jersey Sunday to honor a 12-year-old girl who was killed last year by a teenage boy who lured her to his home.
Autumn Pasquale's family members were among those attending the ceremony at a Clayton park that has been renamed in her honor. Relatives said the tribute means is special because Pasquale often visited the park.
The event was held one year to the day that Pasquale went missing. Forty-eight hours after the girl vanished, her body was found in a blue recycling bin near the Robinsons' home.
In August, Justin Robinson, 16, admitted in court that he lured Pasquale to his home in Clayton -- a rural community of 8,000 located 25 miles south of Philadelphia -- then strangled her. Authorities said the boy lured her to their home by promising to trade bicycle parts.
Robinson was sentenced to 17 years in state prison after accepting sole responsibility for Autumn's death.
