Crocs Cofounder Blames Taylor Swift For His DUI Arrest
Taylor Swift has been everywhere lately. In recent weeks she's been spotted galavanting with rumored new love interest, Conor Kennedy, in Hyannis Port, Mass. as well as in Nashville.
And now, according to one of the cofounders of footwear company Crocs, she was also in Boulder, Colorado over the weekend, where she played a role in his DUI arrest.
Wait... what?
You heard right. Just wait, it gets better.
CBS Local Denver reports that one of the founders of Crocs, George Brian Boedecker, Jr., was arrested in Boulder on Sunday evening. The arrest came after police say a witness found him passed out behind the wheel of his Porsche, which was parked partially on the sidewalk and still running. According to the Denver Post, Boedecker said he was just taking a nap.
The police report states that the 51-year-old was uncooperative and verbally abusive, telling officers he was going to become "medieval" and that the arresting officer was now his "enemy for life." He also mentioned to officers that his girlfriend, a "really (expletive) famous" singer, was the one who had been driving, not him.
So who is the "really 'gosh darn' famous" singer he claims is his girlfriend? He told the officers that the girlfriend in question was none other than Taylor Swift.
Oh, really now?
According to the police report, George told officers that his "girlfriend" had left for Nashville after they had gotten into an argument. Well, it looks like Taylor made it back safe and sound and just in time for her live webcast, which took place last night (Aug. 13) where she debuted a new single and album, Red.
Believe it or not, they never found Taylor--or any second driver--in the area.
This isn't Boedecker's first run in with the law, by the way.
In 2006, the Post reports, he was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor trespassing and threatening bodily injury after he allegedly called his sister's ex-husband, a Boulder defense lawyer, saying, "I'm going to slit your throat." Crocs issued a statement saying Boedecker had resigned from its board of directors the day before his 2006 arrest.
As for the latest incident, he is now free on $500 bond.
