Crew, Red Bulls Play To 1-1 Tie
NEW YORK (AP) — Rich Balchan scored in injury time to give the Columbus Crew a 1-1 draw against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday night.
Mehdi Ballouchy scored for New York in the ninth minute. The Red Bulls were missing several players to national team duties, including forward Juan Agudelo and defender Tim Ream to the United States for its exhibition against Spain, defender Rafa Marquez (Mexico), and midfielder Dwayne De Rosario (Canada).
The Red Bulls stayed second in the Eastern Conference, a point behind Philadelphia. They lost their chance to take the lead when they let Balchan get in alone against goalkeeper Greg Sutton.
