Corrections Officer From Nassau County Charged With Kidnapping
PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Nassau County corrections officer was arrested Saturday in Port Washington.
According to detectives, 42-year-old Scott Sherman surrendered to members of the Nassau County Bureau of Special Operations at 2:48 a.m., following an eight-hour standoff with police.
Sherman faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, assault, menacing, endangering the welfare of a child, and obstructing governmental administration during the course of a domestic incident.
He will be arraigned at a later date.
