Cops: Woman Sexually Assaulted By Man Wielding Stun Gun In Queens Park
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The jogging trails at Forest Park in Queens have apparently become the hunting ground for a sexual predator or predators, CBS 2's Lou Young reported Friday.
For the second time this year, a woman has been sexually assaulted by a man armed with a stun gun in the park, police said.

In the latest incident, the attacker struck the 69-year-old victim with a stun gun -- but didn't fire -- around 4:30 p.m. Monday near Myrtle Avenue and Forest Park Road in Forest Park, authorities said. She told police she was approached by a white man standing 5-foot-9 to 5-11 and wearing a black shirt and black pants. He knocked her to the ground and then sexually assaulted her, police said.
The woman, who is an immigrant and does not speak English well, waited a couple of days before reporting the attack, sources told Young.
In March, a 23-year-old woman reported a similar attack in the same park. She told police a man came from behind her and shot her in the neck with a stun gun before sexually assaulting her.
Police have not linked the two attacks.
City Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley (D-Middle Village), a jogger herself, urged runners to be cautious in and around the park.
"We're asking people if you want to go out running, make sure you stay on main roads and well-lit areas," Crowley said. "If you want to go into the trails, take a partner with you. Don't go by yourself until we catch this person."
Police have increased security in the area.
"It is disturbing," Sara Carpenter, of Richmond Hill, said of the attacks. "But I have full faith in the Police Department, and I have a feeling that this won't go on much longer."
