Cops: Suspect Wore Bloody Boots To Interview
WOODBURY, N.J. (AP) -- Police said they arrested a woman in connection to a Gloucester County homicide after she wore boots with the victim's blood on them to a police interview.
Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office Detective Bryn Wilden said Lori Hummel agreed to an interview after 54-year-old Thomas Carbin was found stabbed to death in his Westville apartment last month.
Wilden said the 39-year-old Hummel, a Gloucester City resident, wasn't suspected in the killing until detectives noticed blood on her boots. The blood turned out to be Carbin's.
Hummel's lawyer Bridget Greene said the case was circumstantial and that Hummel was home with her daughter at the time of the killing.
Hummel was charged with stabbing and robbing Carbin and was being held on $500,000 bail.
