Cops: Suspect Ordered Accomplice To Shoot Duane Reade Cashier During Attempted Robbery
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a pair of suspects wanted for an attempted armed robbery on the Lower East Side.
Two men entered the Duane Reade at 100 Delancey St. and walked to the counter, where one of the men demanded money while the second suspect displayed a gun, authorities said.
When the 21-year-old female cashier didn't comply, the suspect ordered his alleged accomplice to shoot the woman. The accomplice aimed and fired one round from his weapon, missing the cashier.
Both suspects exited the store. The cashier was not injured.
The first suspect is described as a Hispanic man between 40 and 45 years old, approximately 5-foot-9 with salt and pepper hair, a mustache and goatee. He was wearing a blue short-sleeved jacket and white sneakers.
Meanwhile, the second suspect is described as a Hispanic man, also between 40 and 45 years old, between 5-10 and 6-foot with dark short hair. He was wearing a blue baseball hat with a white symbol in front, black jacket and a white shirt underneath.
