Cops: Round Nearly Misses Police Officer After Man Opens Fire On Brooklyn Street Corner

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD has asked the public for help in tracking down a man wanted in connection with a shooting that took place in Brooklyn.

At 2:25 p.m. on Monday, August 18, police say a man brandished a gun and opened fire on the corner of Pitkin Avenue and Wyona Street, in the direction of an unknown man riding a bicycle on Pitkin Avenue.

One of the rounds almost struck a police officer who was in the vicinity at the time, but no one was injured.

The suspect has been described as a black male wearing a white t-shirt and red shorts.
