Cops Release Sketch Of Sexual Predator Terrorizing Queens
FLUSHING, N.Y. (CBS 2) – Police are hunting for a sexual predator who has been targeting women in Flushing, Queens since last year.
The first attack occurred Sept. 22 on 34th Avenue, the second happened on Dec. 12 at the intersection of Sanford Avenue and 147th Street, and the third happened last Sunday, Feb. 27 on Bowne Street.
Authorities finally released a sketch and are hoping that community residents will be on the lookout for the suspect. Police said they believe he is in his mid-20s, 5-foot-five-inches, and 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, blue jeans and darks sneakers.
Women in the neighborhood continue to be on edge, afraid of any sign of danger.
"It's scary. Very scary. I'm a single woman coming home late from work alone. It's very scary. It really is," Flushing resident Cathy Lee said. "He's ruthless."
Police say all the victims were Asian women. Two of the women were in their mid-20s and the other in her mid-30s. In addition sexually assaulting one woman, the suspect also robbed the victim of her wallet and cell phone.
"We have to be careful and we have to open the eyes," Flushing resident Wilfreda Brown said.
Police said all the attacks occurred between 7 p.m. and 4 a.m.
"I hope they catch him right away because we can't deal with these kinds of people in the street," Flushing resident Anna Mendez said.
