Cops: Pedestrian Struck In Melville Hit-And-Run Dies Of Injuries
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- A pedestrian who was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash on Long Island Friday night has died of his injuries, police said Saturday.
A driver traveling southbound on Route 110 in Melville around 8:50 p.m. hit Robert Hosking, 85, and fled the scene, CBS 2 reported.
Hosking was taken to Nassau University Medical center where he was listed in critical condition and treated for internal injuries and multiple fractures. He died Saturday morning.
The vehicle involved in the accident was described as green in color and has damage on the front end of the passenger side, as well as damage to the side view mirror and the windshield, according to authorities.
