Cops: Man Hit By Car On LI Was Robbery Suspect
RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (AP) -- Long Island authorities say a man killed after getting hit by a car was a suspect in a robbery at a hotel.
Authorities said the man was walking on Veterans Memorial Highway in Ronkonkoma when he was hit by an eastbound car around 6 p.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said an investigation found that the man had robbed someone inside a Ronkonkoma hotel room at gunpoint about 15 minutes before he was hit by the car. Parts of a gun and money were found at the scene.
