Cops: Huntington Station Woman Arrested After Escaping Police Custody
HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Long Island woman has been arrested a day after police say she broke free from her handcuffs and escaped police custody.
Police say 23-year-old Samantha Deutsch of Huntington Station was arrested Wednesday night on a charge of escape.
Police say Deutsch slipped out of her handcuffs and fled out a side door at the Second Precinct Tuesday night while being held for disorderly conduct, vehicle and traffic warrants, and criminal impersonation.
Thomas Carriero, 65, was arrested after police found Deutsch in his Huntington Station home around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Carriero has been charged with obstructing governmental administration.
Reginald Williams, 33, has also been charged with hindering prosecution.
Deutsch was being held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment on Thursday.
