Cops Hunt Suspects In Brooklyn Robbery Pattern
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Police are looking for two suspects believed to be behind a string of gunpoint robberies in Brooklyn two days after Christmas.
All three robberies occurred within hours of each other on Tuesday and are believed to have been carried out by the same man and woman who were wearing somewhat distinctive clothing.
The bandits first struck at 4:45 p.m., police say. That's when they walked into a shop at 180 Rockaway Avenue. The incident was captured on surveillance camera. The video shows a 5'6"-5'8" woman with a slim build wearing a black jacket, grey sweatpants and a knit cap walking into the shop. She's following by a 6' man with a moustache and goatee wearing a knit cap, varsity jacket with black sleeves and the letter V on the left side. The man pulls a gun from his waistband and robs the shop.
The second incident happened just a few minutes later at 5:05 p.m. at 142 Rockaway Avenue. In this incident, though, the male suspect apparently acted alone and didn't get away with any cash.
The third robbery went down at 7:05 p.m., this time knocking over a Metro PCS at 455 Sutter Avenue. This time the suspect got away with a safe.
Anyone with any information on these crooks is asked to contact Crime Stoppers. All calls to 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) are kept confidential. You can also text your tip to CRIMES (274637) and then entering TIP577. Or you can log on to their website by clicking here.
