Cops: 6 NY Teens Pull Off 40-Plus Burglaries
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Police in Buffalo said they've arrested six teenagers who are suspected of pulling off dozens of burglaries in the city and nearby suburbs.
Authorities announced Wednesday that police believe the teens committed 18 burglaries in South Buffalo neighborhoods, plus others in Orchard Park, West Seneca, Lackawanna and Angola.
Police said the suspects, ages 15 and 16, are all from Buffalo.
Officials said the teens targeted more than 40 homes and businesses during their daytime burglaries, stealing jewelry, cameras, alcohol and other items. Police said some of the stolen goods have been recovered but other items have already been sold.
The case of the 15-year-olds are being handled in Erie County Family Court, while the three 16-year-olds are being prosecuted in Buffalo City Court.
