Cop Shoots Armed Man Outside Of Brooklyn Playground
NEW YORK (AP) -- New York City police say an officer has shot an armed man in the leg outside a Brooklyn playground.
The NYPD says a 26-year-old man with a handgun was seen by officers Saturday afternoon running after two other men through the playground in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood.
Police say the officers chased the armed man and told him to drop the weapon. They say the suspect turned toward the officers. That's when police say one of the officers fired his service weapon, hitting the man in the leg. He was transported to Kings County Hospital where he's listed in stable condition.
Police say a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic was recovered at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
