Contents Of Russell, Kimora Lee's Ex-Saddle River Home On Sale
SADDLE RIVER, N.J. (1010 WINS/AP) -- This isn't your ordinary garage sale but everything still must go. Just be sure to bring lots of cash.
Buyers were checking out the contents Friday of the New Jersey estate once owned by Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons.
"It's amazing; the architecture, the house," one man scoping out the goods told 1010 WINS reporter Steve Sandberg. "I've never been in a $20 million house."
The Saddle River mansion was featured on MTV's "Cribs'' and Style Network's "Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane.''
There's a bed once owned by the slain clothing designer Gianni Versace that's selling for $200,000. The pillow is $2,000.
The Faith Ringgold acrylic painting, "The Dinner Quilt,'' is selling for $100,000. And don't forget the Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel dog carriers.
Many at the sale were amazed at just how much money can buy.
"The Versace bed, I wouldn't care if it was Barack Obama's bed, and I love the guy, but I wouldn't buy it for 200 grand," one man said.
There are some affordable items as long as you're not in the market for furs or bling.
One woman picked up some knick-knacks including an Italian hand-made pewter towel holder, potpourri container, and an egg-shaped decoration all for $15.
The 3.96-acre estate is on the market for $13.9 million, down from the original asking price of $23.8 million.
The sale ends Saturday.
