Construction Begins On Legoland At Ridge Hill In Yonkers
YONKERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A $12 million, 32,000-square-foot investment began Wednesday with a shower of millions of Legos.

Construction began on the Legoland Discovery Center Westchester at the Ridge Hill Mall in Yonkers. It will be one of five such centers across the country.
But it's about more than just little plastic bricks.
"We've got three million bricks in there and it's about bringing out the creativity in everyone," General Manager Chris Mines said.

If legal challenges and a corruption scandal gave Ridge Hill a black eye, Mayor Mike Spano said thinks it's healed.
"It was unfortunate, what happened legally," he said. "[But] it's become really the destination for the region."
The center should be open by next spring.
