Connecticut St. Sen. Wants Task Force On Video Game Violence
HARTFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) - A Connecticut legislator wants a task force to examine the link between violence in video games and violence in real life.
St. Sen. Scott Frantz says teenagers who pack guns and carry out massacres at schools seem to share a couple of things in common.
Most are social outcasts, he told WCBS 880 Connecticut Bureau Chief Fran Schneidau, and many have an addiction to playing violent video games.

The senator wants a closer look at whether these games to desensitize the children who play them.
"Take all of the findings that have been generated to date, put them together in a database, come up with a conclusion. Yes or no. Is there a causal link between violent video games and violent behavior for younger people?" he said.
The idea behind this is to heighten parental public awareness.
It's been reported that Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter Adam Lanza was an avid player of violent video games.
Frantz said that while police are still investigating, he noted that Lanza did destroy his computer before carrying out the massacre that left 20 little children and six educators dead at the Newtown school.
"My guess is that because he did destroy his computer before he went on his rampage, that he was a violent video game user. That would be my guess," Frantz said.
