Connecticut Police Want Help With Mysterious Deadly Greenwich Crash
GREENWICH, CT (AP / CBSNewYork) - Connecticut State Police are asking for the public's help in solving a freak accident on I-95 in Greenwich around 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
Authorities say a Waterbury woman was killed when a metal object crashed through the windshield of the vehicle in which she was a passenger.
Police have not identified the item that struck 40-year-old Sara Betancourt on. It was metal and 12 to 18-inches-long. They also did not immediately say where they think the object originated.

"We're attempting to identify that object, trying to determine if came off, say, the bed of a truck, or if it's a part of a commercial vehicle," says Lt. Paul Vance.
Betancourt was a passenger in a southbound sport utility vehicle when the item struck the vehicle and broke through the windshield near Exit 4 (at the Mianus River Bridge), not far from the New York border. She was pronounced dead at Stamford Hospital.
The vehicle's 60-year-old driver was not injured.
