Connecticut Lawmaker Steps Up Pressure To Bring Down Gas Tax

Petitions are starting to circulate online and people in Connecticut are anxiously signing on, according to Suzio.
"I think we're going to end up with a pretty good number of signatures and, hopefully, it'll impress the governor enough that he will urge the legislature to pass the gas tax cap," he says.
One of those taxes rises with every uptick in the price of gasoline.
Suzio is eying a special legislative session, tentatively slated for next month, to bring these gasoline taxes in line.
"I can't think of a better way to help out than to cap the tax, the onerous tax, the highest tax in the country, and the second highest gas prices in the country - in the state of Connecticut," says Suzio.
Suzio says the revenue from the tax is not needed to balance Connecticut's budget and the extra revenue is just gravy.
This, Suzio believes, will be a solid boost to the economy in Connecticut.
