UConn Confrontation Becomes Campaign Ad
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Green Party congressional candidate Ken Krayeske, who infamously questioned Connecticut basketball coach Jim Calhoun about his $1.6 million salary in 2009, is using video from that confrontation in a campaign ad.
The YouTube ad says "millionaires like Jim Calhoun" control 42 percent of the nation's wealth. In the ad, Calhoun is seen advising Krayeske to shut up, and questioning his intelligence.
Krayeske alleges that Democratic U.S. Rep. John Larson helped create America's wealth gap and notes that Calhoun contributed to Larson's campaign.
Larson campaign manager Chris Barnes says Krayeske is just "throwing bombs" in a desperate attempt to get attention. Calhoun did not immediately return a message.
