Coney Island Mermaid Parade returns for first time since 2019
NEW YORK -- Summer is officially underway in Coney Island, where the famous Mermaid Parade returned Saturday.
A sea of colorful costumes made its way down Surf Avenue for the 40th anniversary of the event.
This is the first parade since 2019 because of a two-year pandemic pause.
Former New York City health commissioner Dr. Dave Chokshi was this year's King Neptune.
