Disabled Truck Snarls Lincoln Tunnel Traffic
WEEHAWKEN, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Commuters faced major delays Thursday morning after a truck broke down in the Lincoln Tunnel at the height of rush hour.
It took 20 minutes for officials to remove the disabled vehicle which was cleared from the north tube by 8:15 a.m. Thursday.
The incident backed up traffic in the bus lanes causing delays of up to an hour for NJ TRANSIT commuters who ride buses from New Jersey to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.
By 9:30 a.m., commuters were still facing delays of up to 30 minutes.

NJT spokesman John Durso Jr. said trains are honoring bus passes. Some buses also were diverting to Secaucus Junction and Newark Penn Station so passengers could take trains instead.
