Community Board 3 Set To Vote On PARK Smart Parking Plan In Jackson Heights
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The PARK Smart parking plan worked in Greenwich Village and in Park Slope.
And Department of Transportation officials hope it will have the same effect in Jackson Heights, reducing traffic volume.
The plan would increase the time limits on parking meters from one hour to two hours in some places, including 74th Street and Roosevelt Avenue. But it would also cost more.

Right now an hour costs $1. Two hours would cost $4. And one local told 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria "no way" to that proposal.
"It's too expensive," she said. "I don't have enough money to pay every time."
She's also very clear on what control she has over what she can do.
"Nothing," she said with a chuckle. "What do you do? Nothing! I need the parking."
Community Board 3 is supposed to vote on this plan in October.
