Columbia University Deemed Safe After Being Evacuated Over 2 Bomb Threats
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Columbia University received two bomb threats Saturday, which police determined were part of a citywide hoax, according to a statement sent out by the school.
The anonymous threats were found on the Manhattanville and Morningside campuses in Morningside Heights.
The university's IT office was evacuated Saturday morning, then the library was evacuated hours later.
The NYPD bomb squad was called and deemed the areas safe.
The FBI is now investigating.
