New Mets manager Terry Collins made his initial remarks to the full team on Monday morning, then the team took the field for their first full-squad workout of the spring.
Collins yesterday said that he would speak for about 20 minutes, and in part his words would deal with self-motivation and expectations.

The Mets have already set their pitching matchups through next Monday for the early exhibition games. They will play an intra-squad game on Friday here at Digital Domain field with 8 relievers slated to pitch for the two teams.

On Saturday for the opening spring game, Jenrry Mejia will face the Braves in Port St. Lucie. Sunday there's a split-squad - one team heads to Disney World where they'll take on the Braves again with Chris Young and Oliver Perez pitching - the remaining players stay home to face Fred Wilpon's alma-mater, the University of Michigan, with Chris Capuano and Dillon Gee set to face the maize and blue.
Then Monday Mike Pelfrey will take on the Washington Nationals at home.
