As you move closer, the sound starts to drown out the city.

"Then you'll be really enveloped with the sound of falling water and I think it's going to be pretty special," says Joe Daniels, president of the National September 11th Memorial and Museum.

Daniels says they have just over a month to go, but there's still plenty of work to be done.

"Cobblestones still need to be laid. Pavers need to be put in place. More testing of the pool need to happen," he tells WCBS 880 reporter Peter Haskell. "It will be an all-out sprint."

Also to be installed are more trees.

"We've got over 190 trees in place right now. We want to get that number to around 240 for the opening," says Daniels.

Daniels adds more than 80,000 timed reservations have already been made.

The memorial is set to open on the tenth anniversary of the attacks.
