Clinton Accepts Advocacy Group Honor In First Appearance Since Presidential Concession
WASHINGTON (CBSNewYork) -- Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Wednesday made her first public appearance since conceding the election to Republican President-elect Donald Trump.
Clinton appeared in Washington, D.C. with Children's Defense Fund founder Marian Wright Edelman, and was honored by the advocacy group.
Clinton admitted that she was deeply disappointed in the election results.
"Now I will admit coming here tonight wasn't the easiest thing for me," she said. "There have been a few times this past week where all I wanted to do was just to curl up with a good book or our dogs and never leave the house again."
Clinton began her career at the Children's Defense Fund in the 1970s.
