Citi Field Unveils New Mouthwatering Foods On Ballpark Menu

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Oh, the things you'll eat!

Citi Field food is taking it up a notch this baseball season.

Restaurateur Josh Capon enticed 1010 WINS' Juliet Papa with a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich, as the New York Mets showed off tasty new additions to their ballpark menu Wednesday.

"The one you have right here is an eight-hour braised short rib with Taleggio cheese, roasted tomato and fresh arugula," Capon said, describing one of three new sandwiches that you can find at the concession stands.

Bacon on a stick is sure to be a hit.

"We make a s'mores version," Citi Field's new executive chef, Robert Flowers, said. "We dip it in chocolate, sprinkle it in graham cracker crumbs and some marshmallows."

You can't go wrong with Tribeca Grill's menu.

"We've had the batter up chicken but this is a new cod dish that we have with a clam chowder sauce," said Director of Marketing Tracy Nieporent.

While munching on the new treats, Mets Executive Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer Lou DePaoli said fans can enjoy a bigger and better scoreboard, that's 62-percent larger than last year's.

"Get a little bit more vibrancy with colors and more dimension, we can make things almost three dimensional," he said.

Opening Day is next Monday.
