Christie, Zuckerberg Make TIME's 100 Most Influential People List
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- N.J. Gov. Chris Christie, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are just a few of the notable names from the Tri-State to make TIME magazine's list of the 100 Most Influential People.
The list, released Thursday by the magazine, set out to honor 100 politicians, artists and businessmen and women whose "ideas spark dialogue and dissent, and sometimes even revolution."

While the list was compiled by editors at TIME, the individual write-ups of the honorees were written by other politicians, celebrities and academics.
Christie was recognized for his "forcefulness and candor," and Clinton for her "personal star power." Zuckerberg, named TIME's 'Person of the Year' in 2010, received glowing praise from April Capone, the mayor of East Haven, Conn., who connected with – and donated a kidney to – one of her constituents after connecting with him on Facebook.
Newark Mayor Cory Booker made the cut, his feature written by fellow honoree Oprah Winfrey.
"Cory Booker is a genius," Winfrey said. "The work of reforming schools in Newark represents…a ferocious challenge. If anybody can do it, I believe Cory will."
