Christie Talks Cutting Taxes In Bergen County Town Hall Meeting
PALISADES PARK, NJ (CBSNewYork) - A day after presenting his budget to the legislature in Trenton, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie went north to discuss his plan.

Talking during his latest town hall meeting Wednesday at Palisades Park High School, Christie said, "We need to cut income taxes across the board, for every New Jerseyan who has a job, by 10 percent."
And then afterwards, he says it's all about helping the middle class.
"It's going to help those folks individually. It's going to help create jobs in the state. It's going to help to create a better economic environment in the state. There's no question in my mind about that," he said.
Christie says it's about drawing people and businesses from surrounding states into New Jersey.
"If you have neighboring states that have taxes going up..." he said. "When businesses have to choose where to expand, where to grow, or where to establish themselves, we're gonna have an edge."
Christie's budget includes $183 million to fund the tax cut, which would be phased in over three years, as opposed to resuming property tax rebate checks, which are preferred by state Democrats.
"Property tax rebates have not worked for 30 years in dealing with this problem. So, all the sudden they're going to work now, and you're going to trust the people who got us into this mess to fix it?" said Christie.
On Tuesday night, Christie let loose on billionaire Warren Buffett and his calls for tax hikes on the rich.
"He should just write a check and shut up," Christie said while appearing on CNN.
