Christie: FEMA Flood Money For NJ Residents On Its Way
PATERSON, NJ (WCBS 880) -- Gov. Chris Christie says federal funds are coming to the Garden State to help flood victims.
Fighting is stalling FEMA money for flood relief on Capitol Hill, but Christie says homeowners in frequent flood areas will eventually get help.

"We're going to get the money. I'm not worried about it at all," he said. "I talked to the president about that specifically on the Sunday he was here, that I think that FEMA needs to focus more in some of these chronically flooding areas on spending less money on rehab and more money on buyouts."
A $10 million FEMA grant will be going to the towns of Little Falls and Pompton Lakes to raise 60 homes above flood level and buy out others.
Christie said he thinks buyouts are a more cost-effective way of helping flood victims for the federal government.
