Chris Christie Sings 'Thunder Road' With Jimmy Fallon
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Watch out, President Obama: You've got competition in the singing department.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie belted out Bruce Springsteen's "Thunder Road" while appearing on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" Tuesday night.
Christie's appearance - and duet - came a day after he attended his 130th Springsteen concert.
Last week, Christie delivered the keynote address at the Republican National Convention. Christie called the experience "amazing."
Christie also talked about Clint Eastwood's much-discussed appearance. Christie said he had "no idea what [Eastwood] was going to do," and thought at one point things were "starting to go off the rails a little bit," and that "it didn't work."
Christie said he is disappointed with both parties in Washington, saying Republicans and Democrats are equally to blame for gridlock.
"Any of the leaders up there are part of the problem if they're not trying to make a difference," Christie said. "You can't just sit there and say 'we're not talking to each other' if you're one of the leaders."
Meanwhile, a new poll on Christie's job approval shows he didn't get a bounce from his convention speech. The poll by Quinnipiac University finds 53 percent approve of Christie's job performance while 42 percent disapprove. That's about the same as a poll in July.
