Child, 5, Hit By Car In The Bronx
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 5-year-old child was struck by a vehicle late Tuesday afternoon in the Bronx.
The child ran between parked cars into the street at 586 Timpson Pl. in the Woodstock section of the Bronx around 5 p.m., police sources told CBS2.
The driver, a 35-year-old man, was arrested at the scene allegations of driving with a suspended license, sources said.
Child taken to Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center with a skull fracture, but was expected to survive, sources said. The child was to be transferred to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Witnesses said the child was playing in a courtyard and suddenly darted out into the street before being struck.
