Cheshire Home Invasion Murderer Steven Hayes Wants To Be Executed Now
HARTFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) - Steven Hayes, now on death row for the 2007 murders of a Cheshire woman and her two daughters during a home invasion, is speaking out from prison.

Hayes has tried to commit suicide in prison once before, and said he wants to wave his appeals and be executed.
From his cell in the Northern Correctional Institution in Somers, Hayes, 49, wrote to the Hartford Courant saying that while he's willing to live with the grief from his past actions, he can't live with the torture and trauma dished out by the staff at the prison.
"I was willing to live with the intense grief from my past actions, and I still am willing," Hayes wrote in the letter, dated Sept. 29, 2012. "However, I cannot live with the intense tourcher (sic), torment, harassment, and the resulting psychological trauma dished out by the Dept. of Corr. staff here at Northern. I was sentenced to death, not sentenced to tourcher (sic) and punitive treatment until death."
Both Hayes and his partner in crime, Joshua Komisarjevsky, were sentenced to death for the rapes and murders of Jennifer Hawke-Petit and daughters Hayley and Michaela.
The last prisoner to fight for execution was serial killer Michael Ross, but it took him years. He was finally executed in 2005.
