Charlene Spierer: 'We Will Never Stop Looking For Lauren'
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (CBSNewYork) -- The mother of a missing Indiana University college student Westchester says she will never stop looking for her daughter.
In an open letter posted online titled "You know where she is," Charlene Spierer wrote to the person who has information about the disappearance of her daughter, Lauren Spierer.
The 20-year-old was last seen nine months ago on June 3, 2011 after a night out with friends in Bloomington, Indiana where she went to school.
"You and I share unique roles; we are both insiders, forever bound by the senseless circumstances of June 3, 2011. You were with Lauren, you know what happened and you know where she is," Charlene Spierer posted to a blog dedicated to finding her daughter. "Maybe you spend every day trying to forget. I am Lauren's mother. I have a front row seat in this never-ending nightmare."
Months of searches have turned up no signs of Lauren. She is 4'11", weighs 95 pounds, has blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing black pants and a white top.
"Whatever the events of the night, you hold the key to what happened to Lauren at night's end. I wonder if you give Lauren a second thought," Charlene Spierer writes. "I wonder what type person it takes to watch our grief as we face another day. I think about you all the time. I wish for one instant you were in our place, waiting, praying, hoping."
In December, Spierer's friends organized a fundraiser to help in the search and self-defense seminar to learn how to prevent what may have happened to Lauren from happening to them.
Last month, the reward for information leading to Spierer was increased to $250,000 thanks to a donation.
