Charges Dropped Against Fort Hamilton H.S. Teacher Accused Of Making Terroristic Threats
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Brooklyn teacher accused of making terroristic threats against school personnel is in the clear.
A jury decided last week on that there was not enough evidence to indict 34-year-old Sabrino Milo on the original charges against her, attorney Andrew Stoll said Wednesday.
The Fort Hamilton High School art teacher was arrested on April 1 after she allegedly told co-workers that she would bring a gun to school to "settle some scores" and "do what needs doing."
Court papers quoted Milo as saying she "wanted to bring a machine gun under a trench coat to school, and it would be Columbine all over again," referring to the 1999 high school shooting in Colorado that left 13 dead.
The Department of Education is still weighing disciplinary charges.
Milo got into trouble at the school a year ago for striking a student's hand with a ruler. She was reprimanded, but returned for this school year.
