CBS News Poll: Clinton Holds 6-Point Lead Nationally Over Trump
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A new CBS News poll shows Hillary Clinton holding a six-point lead nationally over Donald Trump in the presidential race.
The former secretary of state is up 43 to 37 percent of the presumptive Republican nominee. Last month, the presumptive Democrat nominee held a 47 to 41 percent over the billionaire.
The poll was conducted before Sunday's mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando where 49 people were killed.

With Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson included, Clinton holds a seven-point lead nationally over Trump – 39 to 32 percent. The former New Mexico governor garnered 11 percent of the vote.
The poll found that 51 percent expected Clinton to win the White House, while only 35 percent believe Trump will.
Fifty percent of those polled say Clinton would handle terrorism and national security better than Trump, while 43 percent believe Trump would. Voters are split on who would do a better job on gun policy – 46 percent for Clinton and 45 percent for Trump.
The CBS News poll revealed that two-thirds of voters believe Clinton did something wrong setting up a personal email server while secretary of state and 41 percent think what she did was illegal. That's compared to 25 percent who thought it was improper and 26 percent saying she did nothing wrong.
The poll also found that 70 percent of voters found Trump's comments about the judge handling the Trump University lawsuits offensive. Twenty-four percent said the comments about Judge Gonzalo Curiel were not offensive.
CBS News conducted the poll by telephone from June 9-13 among 1,280 adults nationwide, including 1,048 registered voters.
Meanwhile Wednesday, Mayor Bill de Blasio was asked about rumblings that the GOP old guard is still trying to figure out a way to dump Trump. The mayor said he does not see it happening.
"I think it's physically impossible. I really do. I am not going to be a pundit but it only takes eyes to see the guy won all those primaries and all those votes and has all those delegates," de Blasio said. "I don't know how you undo that in a few weeks' time. I just don't."
The mayor said dethroning Trump would create a huge backlash. But de Blasio added his words that for now, for the good of the country, someone like Trump indeed should not be the nominee of a major party.
