Head over to Hester St. and stop into the Meow Parlour for a treat at the Patisserie (located around the corner) and a nuzzle with your favorite feline. Rent time to relax and pet these furry friends for as little as half an hour, or set up shop with your laptop (for up to 5 hours) and find out how many naps these cats actually take. They've even got fun, cat-centric events, like "Cats & Comedy" with hosts Victoria Hoffman and Molly Kornfeld, Yoga & Kitties classes, as well as designated time slots for groups under the age of 10. You can also shop for meow-valous swag, like t-shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts and tote bags. If you can't seem to part with your favorite kitty, ask about their adoption process – they've teamed up with KittyKind, an all-volunteer and no-kill rescue group. See website for hours and rates.
Koneko

Now you don't have to go all the way to Japan to experience a true Japanese cat café. Head downtown to Koneko (which means "kitten" in Japanese) and enjoy a Japanese-influenced menu plus beer, wine, and sake. Oh yeah, and there's also roughly 20 adoptable cats roaming around in three cat-centric spaces. There's a sunlit Upper Cattery, a warm and cozy Lower Cattery, and a first-of-its-kind outdoor Catio. Make sure to check out the walls, as there is a revolving exhibition of world-class artwork. They've also partnered up with Anjellicle Cats Rescue, a center that tries to find foster homes for cats that are designated on the "at-risk" list. Make sure to stop in on Thursday and Fridays from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. to enjoy Kitty Brunch. This includes picking an item from the breakfast menu, a beverage of your choice, as well as admission to the Cattery for $25. See website for hours and rates.
