1. Alabama (5-0): I know I sound like a broken record raving about the Tide week after week, but the praise is completely warranted. They are the best team in the country by a wide margin as evidence by their shellacking of Florida. I'd be shocked if they don't run the table… This week: @ South Carolina
2. Boise State (4-0): Voters in the AP and USA Today polls felt the need to drop Boise State to 4th in their rankings. What have the Broncos done to deserve that? I know how impressive Ohio State and Oregon have been, but if they play head-to-head Boise beats both those teams… This week: @ Toledo
3. Oregon (5-0): Outside of Alabama, the Ducks continue to be the most impressive team in the country. They passed a huge test against Stanford on Saturday, overcoming a horrible start and out-scoring the Cardinal 28-0 in the second half. Quarterback Darron Thomas has matured quickly… This week: @ Washington State
4. Ohio State (5-0): The rude awakening of Big 10 play set in for the Buckeyes this past Saturday, but they passed the test taking care of Illinois. They did get a scare when Terrelle Pryor got banged up, but he came back in to helped lead OSU to another win… This week: Indiana
5. TCU (5-0): I'm not as big a Horned Frog guy as a lot of people out there, but I have no valid reason to knock them down from this 5th spot. They were slow out the gate against Colorado State last week but still managed to win big, 27-0. Will someone pick them off? – We'll see… This week: Wyoming
6. Oklahoma (5-0): As flawed as this Sooner team can be at times, they just keep on winning. They didn't finish strong against Texas but still came out on top to remain undefeated. The defense is a constant, and Landry Jones and DeMarco Murray are legitimate weapons… This week: Bye
7. Nebraska (4-0): This Cornhusker team can be sloppy at times, but there's no denying their talent level. They're one of the most balanced teams in the country and will have their say in the Big 12 if they iron out their mental mistakes. Big test coming up on Thursday night… This week: @ Kansas State
8. Auburn (5-0): Taking advantage of the misfortune of others, Auburn moves into the top 10. It's hard to argue with the Tigers resume. They were sharp in their 52-3 bashing of LA-Monroe and remain undefeated. Let's see what they got against the SEC big boys… This week: @ Kentucky
9. Arizona (4-0): The Wildcats caught my eye after their impressive win over Iowa a couple weeks ago. They were off on Saturday and spent their night scouting Oregon and Stanford. Do they have enough firepower to overtake both those teams? – We'll find out soon enough… This week: @ Oregon State
10. Arkansas (3-1): I put the Razorbacks ahead of teams such as Utah, Miami and Stanford because they are more deserving. The only blemish on their record is the very tough loss they suffered against Alabama in a game they should have won. Fresh off a bye week, they're sure to have an extra chip on their shoulder… This week: @ Texas A&M
